GIVE us this day our daily SMS.
Believers in today's frenetic world can now find inspiration on the run thanks to that omnipresent companion - not their guardian angel but a cellular phone.
Italy's largest mobile phone operator, TIM, has begun a service to offer clients SMS messages with ``the prayer of the day", ``saint of the day" or ``gospel of the day".
But even prayer is not free these days. The service costs about 30 for each message - a new twist to the concept of pennies from heaven.
Italy, one of the world's most traditional Catholic countries, has opened the door to high-tech religion.
Web sites available to Italians include Saints, Blesseds and Witnesses to tell them about the lives of the saints they were named after.
